Have you ever been a pretender? May be some of you don’t want to talk about it and say it’s a secret. But, I’m sure that all the people have ever been the pretender. Actually, what is the meaning of the pretender its self? The pretender is someone who pretends his self from the real situation. And if we look up our dictionary, the word of “pretender” is taken from the word of “pretend” and the meaning of “pretend” (verb) is behave in a way that is intended to make people believe (that is true) when in reality it is not.
Why do we do that? Of course, many reasons that can make us be the pretenders. Some people said that is for the kindness, in other hand, be the pretender is the way to run away from our mistakes. In Islam, be a pretender is allowed as long as it is for the kindness only. For example, a husband is eating soup that his wife made and honestly that soup is not delicious, but he pretends and says to his lovely wife that the soup is very delicious. It’s an example that be a pretender is allowed because in this case, he wants to make his wife feel happy. But, If the reason is to run away from the responsibility, of course it is not accepted because it’s same as leave the requirement that should be done. And remember, to be the pretender that tells a lie can make our hearts are not calm because we will feel guilty every second in our life.
So, the policy is yours. Do you want to be a pretender or not is up to you. But, the only one thing which you should know that you have to identify what condition which you are allowed to be the pretender. Not all conditions that you can do it. If you is in one situation that forces you to tell the truth, just tell it. There are wise words which said that “Just tell the truth even it hurts”.
